AN ART DECO BAR WITH A TWIST
The Cafe Colette project, in collaboration with Stax was to transform a warehouse into an art deco themed bar. Cafe Colette neighbours the popular Mama Roux and the home of Digbeth Dining club, Spotlight.
Among the work a new bespoke bar was built, a mezzanine floor was created to add additional space for the ladies toilets and custom made booths were constructed to surround the space.
Teal, black and white is the dominant palette. In addition multi-coloured parquet wood cladding adorn the walls. A large focal point to the bar’s design is a custom mural of a classic 1920’s flapper girl. The 2G design team developed 4 distinctively themed toilets; a glamorous gatsby-esque powder room, an ostentatious black and white tiled gents, and two tropical cubicles that all tie into the genre of the era. We believe that impactful toilets make for a memorable bar experience.
